- 1 ¼ cup diced apple (Fuji or Gala preferred)
- ⅓ cup diced white onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon celery salt (or sea salt)
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon celery seed
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- ½ teaspoon mustard powder
- ½ teaspoon chipotle powder
- 1 tablespoon oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, diced apple, onion, and all seasonings.
- Use a ¼ measuring cup to scoop the mixture and form into patties.
- Preheat a well-oiled skillet (cast iron preferred for a nice browned crust).
- Working in batches, cook patties in a single layer for 5–6 minutes.
- Flip and cook for another 3 minutes, or until browned and cooked through (adjust time if patties are thicker).
- Serve warm with breakfast dishes or add to salads.
Notes
No ground chicken? Make your own by pulsing boneless, skinless chicken breasts in a food processor.
Finely chop or grate apples for even mixing.
Flatten patties to about ½ inch for even cooking.
